London, January 3. . . Yesterday the following ode for the
new year, composed by William Whitehead, esq., and set to
musick by Dr. Boyce, was performed in the great council
chamber at St. James.
  Forward, Janus, turn thine eyes,
  Future scenes in prospect view,
  Rising, as the moments rise,
That form the fleeting year anew.
